Description We are looking for a motivated Staff Accountant to join our team in Irving, Texas. This role is ideal for someone eager to apply their accounting knowledge while growing their skills in a dynamic and evolving environment. As a key member of the accounting department, you will contribute to various financial processes and support the team in maintaining accurate records. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. u2022 Reconcile accounts and perform month-end close activities to maintain accurate financial records. u2022 Assist with sales tax and state tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. u2022 Support the preparation of financial statements by gathering and analyzing relevant data. u2022 Utilize QuickBooks for day-to-day accounting tasks, including transaction recording and reporting. u2022 Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to ensure financial data integrity. u2022 Use Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs to analyze and organize financial data. u2022 Collaborate with the Controller to streamline accounting processes and improve departmental efficiency. u2022 Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies as the organization grows. u2022 Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the accounting team. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting is required. u2022 At least 1-2 years of experience in accounting, including knowledge of debits, credits, journal entries, and general ledger. u2022 Familiarity with reconciliation processes, sales tax, and state tax is preferred. u2022 Proficiency in QuickBooks is a strong advantage. u2022 Basic knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, is required. u2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. u2022 Self-motivated and eager to learn, with a desire to grow into a Senior Accountant role. u2022 Ability to adapt to a fluid and evolving work environment.
