Job Title: Commercial Plumber Job Description This role offers an experienced commercial plumber the opportunity to work on a long-term new-construction project in Baltimore, Maryland. You will contribute to a major university build, performing skilled plumbing installations and site setup tasks, with the potential to transition into a permanent position after demonstrating strong performance. Responsibilities + Sweat and install copper piping according to project specifications and applicable codes. + Install and assemble no-hub cast iron piping systems for commercial applications. + Interpret and work from blueprints to lay out and complete plumbing installations accurately. + Move and stage materials, tools, and equipment to support daily project activities. + Set up the job site at the start of each shift, ensuring all plumbing materials and tools are organized and ready for use. + Break down the job site at the end of each shift, securing tools, materials, and equipment. + Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area throughout the project. + Collaborate with other trades and team members to complete tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines. + Follow all site safety procedures and guidelines while working on the university campus. Essential Skills + 6+ years of experience as a commercial plumber, including apprenticeship years. + Proficiency in sweating copper pipe for commercial plumbing systems. + Hands-on experience installing and assembling no-hub cast iron pipe. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints for plumbing layouts and installations. + Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing practices and installation standards. + Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting materials and working on a construction site. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Any additional commercial plumbing experience beyond the minimum requirement is a plus. + Experience working on large new-build or institutional projects is beneficial. + Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and strong teamwork skills. Work Environment This position is based on a new-build construction project at a university campus in Baltimore, Maryland. Work takes place on an active construction site, focused on commercial plumbing installations. You will work with copper and no-hub cast iron piping systems and standard commercial plumbing tools and equipment. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with coordination among multiple trades. Work is performed on-site for the duration of the project, and conditions reflect those of a typical commercial construction setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $46.00/hr.
