Job Description

The School of Nursing and Allied Health at Newman University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Program Administrator (APA) for the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) program. This position supports the day-to-day operations of the program, including coordination of didactic and clinical education and teaching in classroom and lab settings, while contributing to a mission-driven environment that values respect, engagement, and service to diverse communities in alignment with Newman Universityu2019s Catholic identity and the Adorers of the Blood of Christ. Qualifications: u2022 Graduate of an accredited school of nursing u2022 Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program from a regionally accredited institution u2022 Earned doctoral degree (DNP, DNAP, PhD, or EdD) u2022 Minimum of 5 years of experience in administrative, clinical, and/or didactic roles u2022 Certification by the National Board of Certification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) u2022 Current, unencumbered Kansas credentials (RN license, APRN certification, and CRNA authorization) u2022 Demonstrated knowledge of anesthesia equipment, techniques, and procedures u2022 Preparation in curriculum development, instruction, testing, and evaluation u2022 Commitment to ongoing professional development (e.g., recertification, continuing education, scholarly engagement) u2022 Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; the university is unable to sponsor employment visas at this time Responsibilities: u2022 Assist in coordinating DNAP program activities to ensure compliance with university policies, COA standards, and KSBN regulations u2022 Collaborate with the Program Administrator in program development, leadership, and strategic initiatives u2022 Support student recruitment, admissions, evaluation, advising, and retention efforts u2022 Teach and supervise students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings, including anesthesia administration u2022 Facilitate and oversee doctoral scholarly projects u2022 Provide student mentorship and counseling regarding academic and clinical performance u2022 Participate in clinical site visits and maintain relationships with clinical partners u2022 Engage with professional organizations to support curriculum quality and program excellence u2022 Participate in university, program, and healthcare committees u2022 Foster a positive academic environment that supports learning and professional growth u2022 Represent and promote the program through outreach, marketing, and professional engagement u2022 Perform other duties as assigned Benefits Overview: Newman University offers a comprehensive benefits package, including: u2022 Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance u2022 403(b) Retirement Plan u2022 Tuition Waiver for employee, spouse, and eligible dependents after one year of employment u2022 Additional benefits supporting health, financial security, and work-life balance Founded in 1933, Newman University is a liberal arts institution grounded in Catholic values and traditions, yet is respectful of all faiths.
