Shift Worked: 07:00AM to 03:00PM Weekly Hours: 37.5 FLSA Status: Non Exempt Pay range: $21.03-$21.03 United Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State, Ins. d/b/a Constructive Partnerships Unlimited is currently looking for a Utility Mechanic to join our Engineering department. The Utility Mechanic will be responsible for the following: u2022 Perform maintenance and repair duties on reported deficiencies at location. u2022 Responsible for the reporting of deficiencies throughout the facility, including environmental concerns such and temperature, air quality and other quality of life concerns. u2022 Requires a basic working knowledge and understanding of electric, plumbing, HVAC, diagnostic equipment, handicapped adaptive equipment, construction equipment, and general maintenance and perform minor maintenance. u2022 Insure that facility is maintained in a safe, comfortable and useful condition. Drawing on his/her own resources and soliciting the assistance of superiors and engineering to maintain. u2022 Responsible for maintaining safe access to the facility during inclement weather, including but not limited to: Clearing snow/ice from all approaches to the facility including doorways, ramps and driveways. Applying snow/ice melt to above areas as needed. Calling for snow/ice clearing services as required. Keeping interior floors from getting wet, by using mats to absorb moisture, and mops/fans to dry bare floors. Utilize Wet Floor signs to alert people of slippery conditions. u2022 Prepare work area to perform job function u2022 Transports furniture, equipment and supplies as needed u2022 Run errands, purchase, picks up supplies and parts for maintenance projects u2022 Safely use and work on ladders u2022 Inspect, secure proper use of equipment u2022 Conduct analyses and generate reports to reflect findings u2022 Provide support to coworkers as needed in any field of specialty to finish project u2022 Learn specific job duties and complete detailed work assignments u2022 Work effectively and independently with minimal supervision u2022 Maintain all logs and required paperwork u2022 Maintain any required NYC certificate of fitness for Fire Alarm systems Position Requirements: u2022 Two-year experience in minor repairs (electric, plumbing and carpentry). u2022 Valid NYS driveru2019s license and must be within acceptance of insurance limitations of Cerebral Palsy vehicles. u2022 Willing to travel all five boroughs.
