Responsible for overseeing all shift activities andrelated administrative actions; conducts Security Officer training asrequired.Job Duties:Responsibilities include:Directly interact with tenant units in support of requested securityrequirements for additional activities, including but not limited toinspection/security checks of items in conveyance (vehicles withhazardous materials). Support AZ ARNG senior leadership throughdirecting security operations for high profile events. Answer andrespond to dispatch calls from authorized authorities.Perform duties of Security Officer I, including but not limited to;entry control, patrols, restoring order when required, detention and/orapprehension of trespasses or persons identified as a risk, search(s)for person(s) conducting criminal acts and/or other violations, providesassistance to evacuate/secure installation infrastructure in the eventof an emergency. Review and sign SO1 PD.Supervise, lead, direct, and mentor a shift of armed security officersproviding security services for the installation. Coordinate all shiftactivities such as managing leave requests, scheduling, conductingbriefings, and organizing shift actives and duty assignments.Ensure all personnel on assigned shift have required equipment and areproperly trained on duties and responsibilities for assigned position.Serves as the Field Training Officer (FTO) for new hires assigned totheir shift. Approve electronic time entry for assigned personnel.Review written reports of subordinate personnel for completeness andaccuracy, taking follow up action as required. Prepare performanceappraisals, complete appreciation forms and initiate progressivedisciplinary measures as required. Assist hiring managers with interviewpotential candidates. Assists with DEMA asset property inventory.Provide information to civic/public and/or government identifiedvisitors and direct traffic management through designated traffic plansand/or parking areas consistent with force protection measures asprescribed by regulation and/or installation policies. Serves asIncident Commander of emergencies until relieved IAW NIMS/ICS.Assist the State/Territory Command Physical Security Officer withphysical security inspections, risk analysis, and surveys. Support CampNavajo Morale, Welfare, and Recreation program at CN and maintain logsof current participants on site.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of:General Access Control Point operating procedures, patrol operations andemergency response.Applying search & seizure, arrest, use of force procedures.Must possess a functional knowledge of personal computer operations in anetwork environment.Electronic devices (i.e., radio and communications, computers, monitors,recording, and photography) and other security equipment.Standardized federal laws, regulations, methods, procedures, operatingtechniques, state, and local laws to perform tasks including, but notlimited to, apprehending persons fleeing a crime scene; performingdispatcher duties involving passing of directions and information toofficers on posting assignments; seeking, detecting, and protectingevidence and witnesses at the scene of an incident; and detainingwitnesses and suspects.Ability to comprehend a wide variety of security, fire, andenvironmental alarm systems and the action appropriate in the event oftheir activa tion.Firearms and tactics utilized in emergency situations.Understand and follow Army Regulation (AR), Department of Emergency andMilitary Affairs (DEMA) Directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP),policy letters and other written guidance.Game and Fish RegulationsPrinciples and practices of supervision and leading a team in lawenforcement duties.Skilled in:Effectively and professionally interact with installation personnel andcivilians, in person and telephonic.Thorough understanding of the English language and the ability tocommunicate both orally and in writing.Safety with advance operations of weapons.Safety in the operation of security vehicles.Performance of all job duties and responsibilities in a safe andeffective manner - mitigating risk to oneself and others.Reading and comprehending complex written documents, policies, andinterpreting how those policies should be applied locally.Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.Application of law enforcement duties to include but not limited toreport writing, detainment, appropriate use of force, sound judgment anddecisiveness.Supervisory skills in mentoring and coachingemployees.
