This job was posted by : For moreinformation, please see: Title: Heavy Equipment Operator FLSA status: Non-ExemptDepartment: Construction, Materials & Asphalt Plants Reports to:Division ManagerSalary Level: Commensurate upon experience Location: KansasPosition Summary:We are seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team.This is a skilled position requiring a strongdedication to safety, teamwork, and professionalism. The ideal candidatewill operate a variety of heavy machinery toassist in construction sites, asphalt plants, and materials facilities.This role requires expertise in equipment operation,adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work in a teamenvironment to complete projects efficiently and onschedule. The equipment operator works collaboratively with the team tominimize downtime and ensure compliancewith safety and quality standards.Responsibilities:Operate heavy equipment, including front end loaders, dozers, backhoes,etc.Manage incoming aggregate materials, stockpile, and load aggregatefeeder bins for high-capacity asphaltproduction plant facilities.Safely maneuver equipment in tight or high-traffic zones and loadmaterial into trucks.Perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs toensure safe and efficient operation.Transport materials, dig trenches, level surfaces, and perform otheroperations.Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines, regulations, and companypolicies.Daily inspection of equipment and reporting of any malfunctions orsafety concerns to supervisors.Assist with general labor tasks as needed, including site cleanup andmaterial handling.Follow verbal and written instructions.Must be able to perform repetitive work.Ability to follow directions.Position assists with repairs, breakdowns, etc.Must be willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary.Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined inOSHA guidelines and MSHA policies andprocedures manual.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED equivalent.Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.Knowledge of welding and general mechanics preferred.Must be flexible to work days, nights or occasional weekends.Ability to communicate using two-way radios.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those thatmust be met by an employee to successfullyperform the essential functions of this job.
