Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.No matter what you do at Cardinal Health, you make a difference.Our warehouse team members make it all happen. You will receive and fulfill orders so our customers can have the products they need to take care of their patients.Accountabilities in this roleDemonstrates multi-function expertise and leadership skills to assign work, monitor area performance and suggest process improvementAccurately and efficiently performs several operational tasks, including trouble shooting and researchOperates multiple types of material handling/packaging/warehouse equipmentPerforms several or specialized warehouse operations functions within the operating guidelines of the facilityIdentifies and presents process improvements for consideration and implementationDemonstrates effective oral and written communication skills to various levels within the organizationTraining new employees on company and departmental procedures as appropriateEnsuring that safety, productivity and quality standards are metCoordinating housekeeping, inventory control, and complying with all QRA and safety requirementsDirectly supporting employees in the distribution center in all functions, including:Unloading trucks by hand and with the use of material handling equipmentAccurately breaking down and stocking freight in accordance with QRA standards and local proceduresOrder processing (accurately picking, checking, sorting, consolidating freight, wrapping pallets, packing, and loading products)Operate PIT machinery as neededQualificationsExcellent interpersonal, organizational and follow up skills2-4 years experience preferredProficient in Microsoft officeGood written communication skillsHigh School Diploma or GED preferredPrevious experience with operating systems such as Microsoft Office, AS400, Oracle, or other WMS systems preferredAbility to handle multiple projects at a time while meeting deadlinesAbilityto sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to50 poundsAbility tofrequently read written documents and use a computer monitor screen frequentlyWhat is expected of you and others at this levelApplies extensive knowledge and company policies to complete a wide range of assignmentsDemonstrates expert understanding of all levels of the job family and has thorough knowledge of jobs outside area of responsibilityTakes the lead in effectively applying new processes and skills in accomplishing assignmentsMay provide technical guidance and training to othersMaintains appropriate licenses, training and certificationsWorks on complex problems that require independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issueMakes recommendation for new or revised processes and has a role on the implementationAdheres to all quality guidelinesWorks with minimal degree of supervision.
