N Position Type Management Pay Range: $78,000 - $104,000 annually Bonus Eligible: Y JOB SUMMARY Accountable for the overall success of the Shipping and Receiving Department. Responsible for meeting the criteria dictated by local standards to ensure in-coming and out-going shipments of goods are within stated guidelines. Responsible for receiving, storing, shipping and delivering in-coming and out-going guest and department packages and mail. Maintains proper documentation of all incoming and outgoing items. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience u2022 High School diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the procurement, food and beverage, culinary, loss prevention, or related professional area. OR u2022 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2years experience in the procurement, food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Managing the ordering, ongoing storage, and monitoring of supplies and equipment u2022 Supervises operations and ensures compliance with all purchasing, shipping , receiving, and storage policies, standards and procedures u2022 Ensures workers have supplies, equipment, tools and uniforms necessary to do their jobs Managing Daily Operations of the Shipping and Receiving Department u2022 Coordinates deliveries with local agencies, businesses, or stakeholders to allow for sufficient security screening of large trucks or other delivery vehicles (as appropriate or required). u2022 Maintain continuous communication with hotel staff to anticipate all deliveries u2022 Enforces proper cleaning routines for equipment, floors, etc u2022 Ensures staff is properly trained regarding procedures, sanitation, equipment handling and chemical usage u2022 Trains employees in safety procedures and supervises their ability to follow loss prevention policies to prevent accidents and control costs u2022 Maintains operations by developing policies and procedures u2022 Investigates reports and follows-up on employee accidents u2022 Handles product and service problems and guest complaints u2022 Ensures hotel polices are administered fairly and consistently, disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and supports the Peer Review Process u2022 Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas in order to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards u2022 Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job u2022 Performing routine maintenance on mechanical or technological equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed u2022 Control inventories of food, equipment, smallware, and liquor, and report shortages to designated personnel Attending Meetings to Improve Quality and Service u2022 Interacts with internal stakeholders to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels Achieving/Exceeding Goals u2022 Strives to improve service performance u2022 Understands the impact of departmentu2019s operation on the overall hotel financial goals and objectives and manages to achieve or exceed budgeted goals u2022 Participates in the development and implementation of corrective action plans in response to stakeholder concerns Staffing Organizational Units u2022 Reviews staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met u2022 Handles the interviewing and hiring of employee team members with appropriate skills Providing direction to Employees u2022 Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others u2022 Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service u2022 Ensures employees understand service performance expectations and parameters u2022 Helps employees receive on-going training to understand guest expectations u2022 Supervises on-going training initiatives and conducts training when appropriate. _At Marriott International, we are dedicated to being an equal opportunity employer, welcoming all and providing access to opportunity.
