Your Team: The Office of Development (OOD) leads the agencyu2019s effort to create and preserve housing in collaboration with other HPD offices as well as other city, state and federal agencies. The Office of Development is composed of eight divisions that administer a range of programs: - New Construction Finance - Special Needs Housing - Building and Land Development Services (BLDS) - Homeownership Opportunities and Preservation - Preservation Finance - Portfolio Management and Conversions - Housing Incentives - Compliance and Enforcement The Division of Preservation Finance administers multiple financing programs to improve financial and physical conditions and preserve or create affordability within privately-owned multi-family and single-family buildings. The division oversees programs utilizing low-cost loans and property tax benefits among other public incentives including the Multifamily Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program (HRP), the Participation Loan Program (PLP), the Third Party Transfer Program (TPT), Multi-Family Preservation Loan Program (MPLP), Neighborhood Pillars Program (Pillars) the Housing Preservation Opportunities Program (HPO), The Capital Partnership for Affordable Renovations Program (CPAR), the Lead Hazard Reduction and Healthy Homes Program (PPP), HUD Multifamily Program (HUD MF), Supportive Housing Preservation (SPP), and the LIHTC Portfolio Preservation (Year 15) Program. Your Impact: As the Operations Intern for the Division of Preservation Finance, you will work closely with the Director of Operations and Deputy Director of Operations to contribute to the divisionu2019s efforts to preserve affordable housing through process, operations, and policy work. Your Role: Your role will be to support the division, the Director of Operations, and the Deputy Director of Operations in divisional management. Your Responsibilities: Responsibilities will be related to division process development or improvement, data tracking, and assisting in policy research. The Operations Internu2019s responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following: - Oversee the tracking and submission process for Doing Business Data Forms to ensure that projects comply with Local Law 44 per the Cityu2019s campaign finance reform law. - Assist with compiling and tracking divisional post-closing reports; outreach to staff to obtain reports, as needed. - Assist with project research to respond to requests in support of inquiries under NYSu2019s Freedom Of Information Law. - Work with relevant program and administrative staff, oversee coordination of file/archiving needs, as necessary, and retrieval of archived files when requested. - Assist with research and analysis for divisional tracking and other policy exercises. - Assist with other special projects, as needed. Preferred skills - Advanced computer skills including competency in full Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook. - Strong writing and communication skills. - Capacity to work on multiple tasks and set priorities. - Interest in data, analysis, and policy research.
