Die Cutter Mounter 2nd shift: 3pm-11pm Rate: $24.22/hr Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cutting Die Mounter to support die cutter operations by accurately preparing, mounting, inspecting, and proofing printing plates and cutting dies. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety and production standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare, organize, and maintain print cards, printing mounts, and cutting dies in proper sequence and storage. Layout, mount, and proof printing plates and cutting dies to ensure accuracy prior to production. Inspect incoming printing mounts and cutting dies; perform repairs as needed while minimizing production disruption. Verify accuracy of mounted dies, including peer quality checks using proper setup techniques. Wash printing plates prior to filing and ensure proper documentation and traceability. Pull required printing mounts, cutting dies, and machine line-ups for scheduled production runs. Identify and report damaged or worn dies that require replacement to the Plant Superintendent. Maintain accurate ink inventory records, including piece kits; receive and properly store ink daily. Separate, file, and distribute load tags according to established procedures. Complete all required production, safety, quality, and equipment reports accurately and on time. Submit maintenance work orders and proactively support equipment upkeep. Follow production schedules and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards, maintaining a clean and organized work area. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Ability to read and follow written instructions, specifications, and factory masters. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in the corrugated or packaging manufacturing industry. Six (6) months of experience in a press and finishing department. Six (6) months of experience as a Die Cutter Operator or Flexo Operator. Skills and Abilities Ability to read a tape measure accurately and efficiently. Basic math skills, including calculations involving measurements, percentages, volume, and rates. Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills; ability to follow written, oral, or graphic instructions. Working knowledge of equipment capabilities, product layouts, production specifications, and quality standards. Physical Requirements Frequently required to stand, walk, reach, and use hands for handling materials. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds routinely and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Ability to perform physical tasks including stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Vision capabilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Work Environment Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment. Frequent exposure to wet or humid conditions. Occasional exposure to heights, airborne particles, fumes, vibration, and loud noise levels.
