Qualifications Job Summary: The MDS Nurse is responsible for completing the Minimum Data Set (MDS) on each resident in compliance with state and federal regulations which reflect an accurate picture of the resident. Required Qualifications: Education: Graduate from an accredited, state-approved LPN program or school of nursing. Licensure: Current MS RN license, MS 90-day temporary permit, or Compact state license. Experience: One (1) year of clinical nursing experience. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact or educate residents. Ability to work independently as well as with a team. Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the long-term care facility. Knowledge of uses and operations of equipment and instruments used in patient care. Must be patient/customer service oriented, projecting professionalism and socio-economic and cultural sensitivity.
