Job OverviewThe Supply Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for managing the quality aspects of materials and services provided by external suppliers. The role involves implementing quality assurance processes, conducting audits, and collaborating with suppliers to address quality issues. SQE's work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and engineering, to ensure that the components and materials sourced meet the company’s quality standards and regulatory requirements. This position is vital for maintaining the integrity of the supply chain and ensuring that end products meet the high standards expected by customers and stakeholders. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications and will be discussed during the interview process. The salary range for this role is $85,300 - $90,000 per year. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by: Developing and implementing quality management systems and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO standards and other regulatory requirements. Designing, executing, and overseeing inspection and testing processes for products at different stages of production to ensure quality and reliability. Collaborating with product development teams to integrate quality control into product designs and development processes. Analyzing data from quality testing and production metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to reduce waste and increase efficiency. Conducting root cause analysis for defect occurrences, report findings, and make recommendations for improvements. Preparing detailed reports on quality issues, performance metrics, and corrective actions. Coordinating with suppliers and vendors to ensure their products meet quality standards. Training and guiding production staff on quality control measures to improve product excellence. Monitoring the ongoing performance and maintenance of the quality management system. Staying updated on the latest industry trends and quality control techniques. Creating and updating a supplier database Reviewing product assembly guidelines Creating quality control guidelines and protocols Training new employees, suppliers, and vendors Negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors Visiting vendor facilities What will help you thrive in this role? Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, or related field (required) Minimum 3 years of experience as a quality engineer (preferred) Certification in quality control is preferred (e.g., Six Gima, ISO 9001, etc.) Experience in leading internal company audits and supplier audits (preferred) Proficiency in creation of presentations, facilitating training and public speaking (strongly preferred) Ability to use statistical tools (SPC) for defect reduction and a knowledge of statistical programming software such as Minitab or R (strongly preferred) Working knowledge of quality terminology/methodology, trends, operation of measurement devices i.e., Optical Comparator, CMM, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), etc. (required) Certified by ASQ (American Society for Quality) as Quality Engineer (preferred) Experience in CNC Machining, Assembly (preferred) Strong data analysis skills, process improvement, and a project management background
