Job Description

OVERVIEW: A well-established company dominating the market in manufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for their plant located in the southwest Atlanta, GA metropolitan area. This role reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and involves designing manufacturing processes, analyzing equipment layout and workflow, and optimizing productivity. The company offers competitive benefits, bonus potential, and a k with % match up to 5%. The typical work week is 8-5, with the possibility of up to 45-50 hours. RESPONSIBILITIES: Create production tooling designs using 2D & 3D software like SolidWorks. Implement productivity enhancements for current production lines. Conduct root cause analysis of failures and suggest design or process changes using Lean Tools. Develop production processes for new products and modifications to existing products. Perform FMEAs on new and existing products, focusing on designs, materials, or processes. Review product designs for manufacturability and process optimization. Collaborate in cross-functional teams to ensure efficient productivity methods. Lead exercises in design of experiments, lean manufacturing, and more. Lead design review meetings for both new and existing products. Create work instructions, statements of work, spare parts inventories, etc. Implement automation, robotics, vision systems, controls integration, and more. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience. Proficiency in 3D modeling software (specifically SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office. Experience with tooling and project management. Knowledge of automation, specifically robotics and PLCs. Background as a manufacturing engineer in a heavy manufacturing setting. Industry experience preferred, open to various fields. Desired experience in zinc or high-pressure aluminum die casting, stamping, plating, finishing, or plastic injection molding. Foundry experience is a plus. Authorization to work in the USA without sponsorship.
