Gain entry level skills to perform GMAW welding on a diversified line of standard weldments using American Welding Society welding symbols. Learn to set-up, fit and position weldments having a number of parts, use welding fixtures and jigs where applicable. Work from blueprints and job layouts; use measuring equipment and gauges. Work is subject to first and final piece inspections per the AWS D1.1 visual inspection requirements. Use hand grinders and dynafiles to remove weld splatter and sharp edges from metal materials.
