A family on the Upper East Side is seeking a full-time laundress to join their fully-staffed home. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm. Flexibility is key, and additional days may be requested, in addition to four days per week (10hr days) in Southampton during July and August. This position is seeking longevity and is hiring immediately.Reports to the House Manager The Laundress at the residence is responsible for:Perform all household laundryWashing, steaming, and mending of clothingIroning clothing and linensPutting away all household laundry and linensMaintenance of the owners’ wardrobePart of a team that maintains the primary residence and assists at other seasonal homes, as neededPoint of contact for all items going to repair and dry cleanersInspect and organize all closets and drawers of all rooms that are being used by the family and guests dailySort and inventory all clothing and linen that is sent in /out of house (by photos and written inventory)Work with housekeepers in packing and unpacking the owners for travelInspect all clothing and linen for stains and repairs. (Inventory all items that are sent in/out of house, i.e. Best Reweaving, dry cleaners)Maintain laundry supply inventoryResponsible for the seasonal organization of clothing and the storage of clothing in the basement and closets.Clean laundry room and maintain equipment (deep clean laundry room once a week)Clean staff room and staff bathroom once a weekMust be legal to work in the USPrior laundress experienceComfortable handling couture clothingGood communication and organization skillsAttention to detailComfortable working with dogs in the homeMust have longevity in prior roles.The family is offering $50/hr+, depending on experience, along with a full benefits package to include:Medical, dental, and vision after sixty days20 days of paid vacation, after accrued5sick days8 paid holidays (If worked, holiday pay or alternative day off)
