Nakupuna Consulting is seeking experienced Network Technician Leads to support the US Marine Corps Voice Modernization effort across multiple West Coast installations, with primary operations centered at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. Nakupuna provides full Engineering, Furnishing, Installation, Securing, Testing, and Turnover (EFIST) services to deliver modernized Cisco-based voice and network infrastructure. This includes deployment of IP telephony (Cisco 9800-series), gateway systems, power infrastructure, and supporting network components.The Network Technician Lead serves as both the on-site crew lead and a key contributor to project deliverables, working closely with Nakupuna’s Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure execution is aligned with contract requirements, documentation standards, and Government expectations. This is a Key Personnel position.The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this position but does not restrict tasks that may be assigned.Field Leadership & Execution Lead a field installation crew (4-5 technicians) in executing network and voice infrastructure deployments across multiple installations Direct daily installation activities including: Cisco IP phone deployments (e.g., 9841 series) VG420 gateway installations UPS systems and rack-mounted equipment Network switch and cabling activities (as required) Manage daily production targets and ensure adherence to schedule and sequencing Serve as the primary on-site escalation point for technical and execution issues Coordinate directly with: Regional Project Managers UC and Network Engineers Government site representativesVerification, Cutover, and Validation SupportLead and support: Verification Site Surveys (VSS) Implementation and cutover activities System validation and troubleshooting Execute and oversee high-risk activities such as: Voice cutovers System outages and transitions Ensure installations meet EFIST requirements for: Functionality Security Operational readinessDeliverables & PMO IntegrationWork directly with Nakupuna’s Project Management Team to develop and support contract deliverables, including: Site-specific installation reports Verification Site Survey documentation Equipment inventory and asset tracking updates As-built documentation and configuration records Input to PCA/PCR acceptance documentation Provide field-derived data and insights to ensure deliverables accurately reflect on-site conditions and completed work Review and validate documentation for: Accuracy Completeness Alignment with contract requirements Support preparation for: Government reviews Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) Acceptance eventsQuality Control & Continuous ImprovementEnforce quality standards and installation best practices across all crew activities Ensure compliance with: Configuration management processes Documentation requirements Safety protocols Identify and communicate: Field issues Process inefficiencies Opportunities to improve deployment execution Provide feedback to engineering and PMO teams to refine: Technical solutionsDeployment approachesSkills/Qualifications: The ideal candidate possesses expertise and experience in project management, especially within infrastructure and environmental services. Key qualifications include:Strong leadership and team coordination skills Solid understanding of: TCP/IP networking VLANs, switching, and Ethernet IP telephony systems (Cisco preferred) Ability to translate field execution into clear, accurate documentation Strong communication skills with both technical teams and Government stakeholders Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, multi-site environmentsEducation and ExperienceHigh School Diploma required 3-5+ years of experience in network or voice infrastructure deployment Experience leading installation teams or crews required Experience supporting technical documentation or deliverables preferred Cisco certifications (CCNA or higher) preferredLocation: Based in Southern California (Camp Pendleton / San Diego Oceanside region)Travel required across West Coast installations Travel may be 25-50% depending on phaseClearance Requirements: Active Secret Clearance requiredMust be a U.S. CitizenPhysical Requirements:In addition to the skills and qualifications mentioned above, candidates must, at a minimum, be able to meet the following physical requirements.Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs Ability to work in communications rooms, IDFs, MDFs Frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, and overhead workThe Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
