To thrive,you’llneedstrongtechnical and communicationskillsinMission Planning,Ground System software development,and hardware interfaces.This position requires an active/current Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).What You’ll Do:Be responsible forcoordinatingtheTechnical Roadmap, includingdesign,implementation,and operation oftheFlightDynamicsSystem (FDS)software componentsrequiredtomeet theSDAPWSA(Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture)missionobjectivesPlay a role in thecollaborative efforts and initiatives withtheMission Managementteam to develop ground software components founded upon modern industry standard platforms, languages, and deployment techniquesPrioritize software developmentobjectiveswithin the Iridium-defined Agile/Scrum frameworkPlan and execute software releases, providing input into stakeholder/program schedules and budgetsProvidetechnical and analytics support to stakeholdersto promote informed decision makingAssistin ground system operations process/procedure/training documentation andidentifytechnical training needsDeliver constructive, meaningful feedback and proactively offer guidance and knowledge-sharingCollaborate cross-teamwithstakeholderstodefine technical roadmaps,identifyand mitigatetechnicalrisks,andremove barriersto successInterface withtheoperations team to obtain user feedback and update software accordinglyInterface with customer explaining the status ofFDSsoftware developmentWhat You’ll Need to Succeed:Bachelor’s degree inAerospaceEngineering, Computer Science,or related field5+ years of relevant experiencein the Aerospace industry,specifically associated with the development and operation of complex Satellite Ground SystemsBreadth of knowledge in satellite operations,mission planning,and satellite subsystemStrong communicationskills, with theabilityto confidently present products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issuesPossess an analytical mindset, with theabilityto understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions orcome up withsolutionsBe comfortablemanaging upward, including being a proactive communicator and asking for help when neededHave confidence and be able toestablishvaluablerelationshipswith othersMust be able to prioritize key tasks and havea strong senseof ownership over your workBe active in seeking out ways to continuously improve yourself and gain new knowledgeThings ThatWould beGreatif You Brought to the Table:Experience with defining, analyzing and documenting RF (Radio Frequency) and optical communication system interface requirementsExperience with defining, analyzing and documenting RF (Radio Frequency) and optical communication system interface requirementsExperience with Satellite RF Communications theory or practical experienceExperience with designing, developing, and operating Space VehicleSubsystems and various command and control systems (e.g. OS Comet, InControl, etc.)Experience with aspects of the Hardware Software Development Life CycleprocessProgramming languages such as: Java, Java-Script, Python, Shell scriptingWorking knowledge of networking protocols, routers, switches, etc.We’ll also need you to:Be able to travel up to5%Be a U.S.CitizenWork Environment:This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer.
