Job Description

Reporting directly to the Transportation Manager, The Driver Supervisor is a working lead position responsible for supporting and guiding the delivery team to ensure safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations. This role combines hands-on delivery responsibilities with leadership functions such as coaching, training, and communication across departments. The ideal candidate is an experienced, dependable delivery professional who leads by example and demonstrates strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.Serve as a lead resource and positive role model for delivery drivers, promoting teamwork and accountability.Support daily operations in the market, assisting with routing, troubleshooting delivery issues, and maintaining high service standards.Provide clear direction, expectations, and regular feedback to drivers.Assist with onboarding, training, and development of new and existing drivers.Conduct ride-alongs to evaluate performance, ensure compliance with company standards, and provide coaching.Reinforce Standard Beverage’s safety culture and professional delivery expectations.Support morning dispatch to verify paperwork accuracy, secured loads, and proper routing.Step in as a backup driver when needed to ensure all routes are covered.Help gather and report operational data such as route metrics, driver feedback, and delivery efficiency.Assist in the daily routing process to ensure route optimization and efficiency.Act as a liaison between drivers, transportation leadership, and sales teams.Communicate effectively to address delays, customer concerns, or unexpected route challenges.Promote open communication, teamwork, and shared accountability for success.Maintain full compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and Standard Beverage safety policies.Assist in ensuring all vehicles meet safety standards and pre/post-trip inspections are properly completed.Proactively identify and report safety concerns or operational risks.When the Transportation Manager is unavailable, the Supervisor will fill in and manage day-to-day transportation operationsBachelor’s degree (preferred).3-5+ years in transportation or delivery driver management, ideally in the food/beverage industry.Experience managing large driver teams (35+).Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations.Proficiency with routing/fleet management tools (Descartes, Roadnet/Omnitracs, etc.).Hands-on leadership style with a track record of team success.Results-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.High integrity and commitment to safety and compliance.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Valid Commercial Drivers License- Class AMedical Examiner’s Certificate - As required by the Department of TransportationAcceptable Motor Vehicle record (MVR)Candidate will receive a market-competitive compensation package.
