Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist Job Description This role serves as a key warehouse associate responsible for all aspects of shipping and receiving in a manufacturing environment. You will handle incoming and outgoing materials, operate warehouse equipment, and use basic computer tools to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely movement of goods. Responsibilities + Receive incoming shipments by unloading trucks, verifying quantities against packing lists, and inspecting materials for damage or discrepancies. + Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, labeling, and staging orders according to shipping documentation and schedules. + Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely to move, load, and unload materials throughout the warehouse and manufacturing facility. + Lift and move items up to 50 pounds unassisted multiple times per day while following proper safety and ergonomic practices. + Use a computer to enter and update shipping and receiving data, maintain inventory records, and track orders in the warehouse system. + Check and respond to emails related to shipping schedules, delivery issues, and inventory inquiries in a timely and professional manner. + Organize warehouse areas by maintaining clean, orderly, and clearly labeled storage locations for efficient material flow. + Follow established warehouse procedures, including any applicable DOT and Hazmat handling guidelines for materials and documentation. + Collaborate with production and other internal teams to ensure materials are available when needed and shipments depart on time. + Report any equipment issues, inventory discrepancies, or safety concerns promptly to support a safe and efficient operation. Essential Skills + At least 2 years of hands-on shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse or distribution environment. + At least 2 years of experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing setting. + At least 2 years of experience using a pallet jack to move and stage materials. + At least 2 years of experience with basic computer operation, including data entry and email communication. + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted multiple times throughout the workday. + Strong organizational skills with the ability to keep work areas orderly and manage multiple tasks efficiently. + Basic understanding of warehouse distribution processes and material handling practices. + Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently. + Commitment to working safely and following all warehouse and facility procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Familiarity with DOT regulations related to shipping and transportation is preferred. + Experience handling or processing Hazmat shipments is preferred. + Previous experience in a manufacturing facility or similar industrial environment is a plus. + Comfort working with email and basic computer applications for communication and recordkeeping. + Attention to detail when verifying shipments, labeling materials, and updating records. + Reliable work habits, including consistent attendance and punctuality. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break. You will regularly operate forklifts and pallet jacks, move materials by hand, and use computers and email as part of daily tasks. The environment is active and hands-on, with frequent movement, material handling, and interaction with production and warehouse staff. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Benicia, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
