In this role, you will provide support and operational oversight of the organizationu2019s workers compensation claims program. This role is responsible for ensuring effective claims handling, regulatory compliance, cost containment, vendor management, and alignment with broader risk management and human resource strategies. Weu2019re always pushing new limits. You can too. Location This role can be located at one of our major Kiewit Offices in Omaha, NE; Lenexa, KS, or Westlake, TX. This role operates in an in-office setting daily, Monday through Friday, with some expected travel - up to 25%. Responsibilities u00b7 Coordinate the Companyu2019s reporting, handling, and resolution of workersu2019 compensation insurance claims u00b7 Interface with Kiewitu2019s third-party claims administrator and Risk Management Information System (RMIS) provider u00b7 Participate in the training and education programs presented by the Department u00b7 Participate in claim reviews with third party administrator (TPA) and District leadership as needed. u00b7 Maintain and update electronic claim files in RMIS system u00b7 Partner with safety and HR teams to align claims data insights with injury prevention and employee well-being initiatives. Primary Functions u00b7 Oversee complex, high-exposure, and litigated claims, providing guidance and escalation support as needed. u00b7 Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local workersu2019 compensation laws and regulations across assigned jurisdictions. u00b7 Review claim reserve and settlement analysis and provide recommendations. u00b7 Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement in claim outcomes, cycle time, and costs. u00b7 Maintain relationships with TPAs, defense counsel, medical networks, nurse case managers, and other service providers. u00b7 Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, HR, Legal, Risk Management, and Operations on workersu2019 compensation matters. Qualifications u00b7 BS/BA degree or 10+ years of progressive experience in workers compensation claims management, including multi-state or national oversight. u00b7 In-depth knowledge of workersu2019 compensation laws, regulations, and claims best practices across multiple jurisdictions. u00b7 Proven experience handling high-risk, catastrophic, and litigated claims. u00b7 Strong financial acumen, including reserve management and cost analysis. u00b7 Familiarity with claims management systems and data analytics tools. u00b7 Experience performing workers compensation claim management in a construction industry preferred. u00b7 Ability to balance empathy, compliance, and business objectives in claims decision-making. u00b7 Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced corporate environment. u00b7 Ability to work in a team environment. u00b7 Ability to work independently and communicate risks or potential problems to manager. u00b7 Ability to travel 25% or less. u00b7 Proficient with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc. #LI-AK1 Other Requirements: + Regular, reliable attendance + Work productively and meet deadlines timely + Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. + Perform work safely and effectively.
