Yes County Albany Street Address NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports 1450 Western Avenue City New York State NY Zip Code 12203 Duties Description u2022 Serve as an agency subject matter expert in the prevention of harms associated with gambling within the Bureau of Gambling Services and Supports. u2022 Assist with the development and implementation of the expansion of prevention services including community-based programming and public awareness campaigns aimed at preventing underage gambling; and review, research, and develop gambling resources. u2022 Review, approve, and monitor workplans and budgets for assigned Problem Gambling Resource Centers (PGRC); provide direct oversight and program support through ongoing engagement and meetings with PGRC staff, and make recommendations for improvements. u2022 Monitor, research, and track gambling trends and data in assigned regions and within OASAS to guide policy development and implementation related to the prevention and mitigation of harms associated with gambling. u2022 Coordinate and implement OASAS gambling priorities related to Statewide surveys, gap analysis, public awareness, legislative initiatives and proposals, targeted populations, and other tasks assigned. u2022 Collaborate, educate, and engage with all OASAS Divisions, other State agencies, community collaborations, and national partners related to the prevention, mitigation, and public awareness of harms associated with gambling. u2022 Bring awareness surrounding issues related to the prevention and mitigation of harms related to gambling on agency, regional, Statewide, and national levels. u2022 Other duties assigned by Division leadership. Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At this time, agencies may recruit and hire employees by making temporary appointments. If a temporary NY HELPS employee is satisfactorily performing in the position, the appointment will be changed from temporary pending Civil Service Commission Action to permanent non-competitive and the official probationary period will begin.At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. Additional Comments The salary range listed for this posting reflects the full range for this graded position, factoring in annual performance advances based on satisfactory annual performance reviews.
