The LibraryResource Officer will provide operational oversight related to thesafety and security of library customers, staff, and building assets forthe Wichita Public Library system. This includes being trauma-informedand community service oriented. Success in this position looks likeawareness of public library services, management of customer user oflibrary spaces, and customer referrals to community partners whoseservices can assist with access to housing, healthcare, and socialservices.This position reports to the Support Services Division Manager and isresponsible for the weekend oversight of spaces and providing necessarysupport to staffat the Advanced Learning Library to provide a safe,inclusive, and secure community space, for both customers and staff. Inaddition to managing spaces and use at the Advanced Learning Library.This position requires a people-first orientation, recognizing the widerange of needs of customers and adapts approaches tononconfrontationally correct and de-escalate customer behavior.
