Job Description

Description An Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing a companyu2019s outgoing payments and ensuring that all vendor invoices are processed accurately and on time. This role plays a critical part in maintaining strong vendor relationships and ensuring the organizationu2019s financial obligations are met efficiently. Key Responsibilities + Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and payment requests + Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices (3-way matching) + Schedule and prepare payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers) + Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions + Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies + Communicate with vendors regarding billing issues or payment status + Assist with month-end closing and accruals + Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures + Prepare reports related to accounts payable activities + Maintain organized filing systems for invoices and financial documents Requirements Education & Experience + High school diploma required; associateu2019s or bacheloru2019s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred + 2u20134 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting Skills & Competencies + Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and basic accounting principles + Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel + High level of accuracy and attention to detail + Strong organizational and time-management skills + Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment + Good problem-solving and reconciliation skills + Effective communication and vendor management skills Additional Qualifications + Knowledge of invoice processing and 3-way matching + Ability to handle confidential financial data + Team-oriented with the ability to work independently + Familiarity with tax forms (e.g., W-9, 1099) is a plus Robert Half is the worldu2019s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
