Housekeepers are assigned to each Academic Building to maintain public/ common areas, to assist in eliminating distractions such as unwanted graffiti, dust/dirt, and unwanted smells from the learning environment and to assist in the protection of the faculty, employees, and student's health and safety.Cleans all areas of the building including, but not limited to the following and other duties as assigned:Empties and cleans waste receptacles and replaces bags as necessaryDusts and mops hard surfaced floorsThoroughly vacuums, including all edges of carpeted floorsArranges furniture to its original positionReports any damage or vandalism to your Housekeeper or supervisorCleans glass to classroom entrance doorsWet mops hard floors as weather and usage conditions dictate (daily during winter months)Dusts exposed horizontal surfaces such as window sills, empty shelves, door casings, and bottoms of furniture (NOTE: In scientific laboratories, bench tops and hoods are not to be cleaned by Housekeeping)Replaces light bulbs as necessaryClean all glassKeep all entrances cleanOther duties as assignedRESTROOMS: DAILYEmpties trash receptacles, cleans as needed, and replaces bag linersChecks and replaces all paper products such as tissue and hand towels as neededChecks and fills soap dispensers as necessaryCleans and disinfects sinks, toilet seats, and side panels to stall partitionsCleans mirrorsCleans entrance panels to stalls of fingerprints, etc…Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesRequires regular, reliable and predictable work attendanceAbility to operate custodial and maintenance equipmentGood knowledge of proper chemical storage, use and inventorySkill in maintenance tools and materialsWorking ConditionsExtensive time sitting and standingAble to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolds, bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, and kneelAbility to lift 25-40 poundsMust wear a uniformExposure to chemical cleaners and pesticidesUSD $35,819.00/Yr.USD $35,360.00/Yr.
