We are looking for an for a Forklift Operator to join us and become part of our Arrow Team in Las Vegas, NV!For more information about Careers at Arrow please visit: arrowcareers.caOperate forklifts to handle various weight capacities (under and over12,000lbs.)Loading and unloading products from trucks, railcars or containersSecure commodities on railcars using appropriate rigging, tie-downs, and safety procedures to prevent shifting during transitWork at heights while inspecting, loading, and securing freight, following all fall protection and safety regulationsSupport inventory control (inbound/outbound/on ground) and accurately documentAbility to prepare load plans for railcar, truck and/or containerPerform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipmentAssist with general yard clean up/maintenanceAssist with cleaning of equipment, cutting steel banding for package securement, and monitoring disposal of itemsInspect and verify product condition to ensure cleanliness and compliance with loading proceduresWork in adherence to all safe work practices, procedures, as well as all regulatory requirementsSuggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crewMay be asked to travel to othertransloadterminals toassistif necessaryOther duties as instructed by supervisorPrevious experience operating high capacity forklifts (up to 25,000 lbs) is an assetPrevious experience loading and unloading commodities from trucks or railcars is an assetPreference will be given to those with lumber handling experienceAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly.Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps, heat, wind)Comfortable working at heights exceeding 10 feet, using fall protection equipmentA positive attitudeSolid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environmentEmbody Arrow's values: Safety, Integrity, Responsibility, Quality, Teamwork, and Fun!
