Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Goleta, California. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to essential accounting functions while working in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to deliver accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities: u2022 Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including data entry and month-end close activities. u2022 Support the Accounting Manager in reconciling accounts and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. u2022 Maintain and organize financial records, including filing and scanning of documentation. u2022 Perform routine journal entries and assist in maintaining the general ledger. u2022 Collaborate with the team on corporate tax returns and sales tax filings. u2022 Identify opportunities for improving accounting processes and implementing solutions. u2022 Ensure compliance with accounting standards and confidentiality protocols. u2022 Handle ad-hoc tasks and projects to support the department's goals. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. u2022 Familiarity with general accounting systems and principles. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and spreadsheet tools. u2022 Strong understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger processes. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. u2022 Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to improving efficiency. u2022 Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. u2022 Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality in sensitive matters.
