Responsibilities + Perform assigned grinding, deburring, and finishing tasks on metal parts to meet quality and production standards. + Follow standard work methods and safe work practices at all times. + Support production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety throughout the workflow. + Use small hand tools and equipment correctly to complete finishing operations. + Read and follow work instructions, job travelers, and basic production documentation in English. + Use measuring tools to check dimensions and verify that parts meet specified tolerances. + Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to achieve daily production goals. + Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of tools and materials. + Adhere to all safety rules, including the correct use of required personal protective equipment. + Perform repetitive tasks with consistency and attention to detail over the course of the shift. + Assist with other production or finishing duties as assigned by supervision. Essential Skills + Knowledge of and ability to use small hand tools for grinding, deburring, and finishing tasks. + Ability to follow instructions in English, including reading, writing, and performing simple arithmetic calculations. + Understanding of basic measurements and the ability to use and identify common measuring tools. + Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a production environment. + Ability to work in challenging conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, molten metal, and other elements for extended periods. + Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and follow instructions with limited supervision. + Basic tool knowledge combined with solid basic math skills. + Good handu2013eye coordination and the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately throughout the day. + Physical ability to regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and communicate as needed during the shift. + Physical ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required by the tasks. + Ability to lift and maneuver objects weighing between 30 and 50 pounds safely. + Willingness and ability to wear required protective or safety equipment, including safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Previous foundry experience is a strong plus. + Prior manufacturing or assembly experience is preferred. + Experience working in environments with noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature variations. + Comfort working with mechanical tools, sanding equipment, and other production-related tools. + Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts is beneficial. + Experience in sheet metal, mechanical repair, or similar hands-on industrial work is advantageous. Work Environment This is a full-time role in a heavy industrial and foundry-style production environment. The typical schedule consists of 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. The work area involves exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, molten metal, and other industrial elements for extended periods. Work is primarily performed on the production floor, requiring frequent standing and walking, as well as regular use of hand tools, measuring tools, and finishing equipment for grinding, deburring, and sanding. Personal protective equipment is provided or required, including safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection, and must be worn at all times as directed. The facility maintains sanitizing, disinfecting, and cleaning procedures to support a clean and safe workplace. The dress code centers on practical work attire suitable for an industrial environment, combined with the required safety gear.
