The role involves some work hours in a clinic setting as well. This position supports efficient access to care by reviewing incoming referrals, confirming required clinical information, and helping prepare patients for evaluation in clinic. TheIntake Surgery Nurse Coordinatorrole requires strong nursing experience, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. The Intake Surgery Nurse Coordinator will partner closely with nurses, surgeons, advanced practice providers, and scheduling support to promote organized workflows and a positive patient experience. Key Responsibilities Clinical Intake Coordination: 1. Review incoming referrals inEpicto confirm required information is complete and appropriate for clinic scheduling. 2. Manage intake workflows, work queues, and related communications to support timely patient access. 3. Identify missing documentation or clinical details and coordinate follow-up as needed. 4. Serve as a key nursing resource for referral review and intake-related decision support. Clinic Support: 1. Participate in clinic activities and help coordinate care needs associated with surgical intake and evaluation. 2. Collaborate with surgeons, advanced practice providers, and team members to support smooth patient flow. Help ensure that patients entering the program are appropriately prepared for the next step in their care journey. 3. Position also requires helping schedule patients as well. Team-Based Coordination: 1. Work closely with two other nurses during orientation and ongoing daily operations. 2. Partner with a scheduler and clinical team members to maintain organized and responsive intake processes. 3. Communicate effectively across disciplines to keep referral and clinic activity moving efficiently. Workflow Management: 1. Prioritize multiple responsibilities, including referral review, email communication, and queue management. 2. Use clinical experience and strongEpicnavigation skills to make informed decisions in a timely manner. 3. Support consistent, accurate documentation and coordination within ambulatory nursing workflows. Exposure to liver-related care, hepatology, or transplant-related populations is helpful, but not required. Knowledge and Skills: 1. Strong proficiency inEpic, including the ability to navigate efficiently within referral and work queue workflows. 2. Ability to review referrals and determine whether necessary clinical information is present for scheduling. 3. Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to act as a primary intake point person. 4. Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, emails, and intake tasks. 5. Effective communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary clinical setting. 6. Comfort working in a role that combines independent judgment with close team partnership. Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty. 5. Successful completion of HFHS (Parent Operating Group) Pharmacology test.
