You will play a key role in ensuring safe working conditions by accurately collecting, analyzing, and documenting air quality data. Responsibilities + Conduct air monitoring in abatement areas to support asbestos and remediation activities. + Perform clearance and background air sampling in accordance with project requirements and safety standards. + Collect air samples using established methods and equipment, ensuring accuracy and consistency. + Read and interpret air samples and document results clearly and thoroughly. + Follow established sampling procedures and maintain proper chain-of-custody for all samples. + Work safely and professionally in active construction and abatement areas, adhering to all safety protocols. + Maintain accurate field notes, logs, and documentation for each project. + Communicate clearly and professionally with project managers, contractors, and clients regarding sampling activities and results. + Collaborate with on-site teams to coordinate sampling schedules and site access. + Support environmental remediation activities as needed by providing timely and accurate air monitoring data. Essential Skills + Experience with asbestos air monitoring or working in asbestos abatement environments (1u20132 years preferred, open to entry-level with relevant exposure). + Familiarity with active construction environments and jobsites. + Understanding of air sampling procedures, including clearance and background sampling. + Knowledge of safety protocols in environmental remediation and construction settings. + Ability to accurately collect, read, and document air samples. + Strong attention to detail and reliability in following established procedures. + Clear verbal and written communication skills for interacting with project managers, contractors, and clients. + Ability to work effectively as part of an on-site team. + Commitment to working safely in abatement and construction environments. Additional Skills & Qualifications + NIOSH 582 u2013 Sampling & Evaluating Airborne Asbestos Dust (strong plus). + Previous experience reading or handling asbestos air samples. + background in environmental, industrial hygiene, or construction-adjacent work. + Prior exposure to construction, asbestos, mold, or environmental services. + Demonstrated interest in building a long-term career in environmental services. + Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate field notes and documentation. + Ability to follow a structured two-step process for sampling and documentation. Work Environment This position operates in a combination of job sites and office settings. You will spend significant time in active construction and abatement environments, working on-site with project teams and contractors. The role involves handling air sampling equipment, following strict safety protocols, and moving between different project locations as needed.
