The Estimator reports to the Change Order/ Estimating Manager and responsibilities include assisting and providing the documentation as below: Responsibilities are included but not limited to: + Identify Change Orders with clientu2019s Contract Services Unit. + Assist in scoping of Field Condition Change Orders. + Produce Engineeru2019s Estimates for Field Condition Change Orders. + Assemble Contract Change Request packages for scope approval. + Issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs) via client EPMIS system. + Produce independent estimates for non-field condition Change Orders to check validity of Engineer-of-Record produced Engineeru2019s Estimates. + Reviews contractoru2019s estimates. + Act as the lead in the negotiation of Change Orders. + Package negotiation documents. + Respond to auditor questions/comments. + Update change order logs as process steps take place. + Attend monthly internal change order update meetings and monthly change order update meetings with Contractor(s). + Develops wage rate build-ups. + Reads and interprets drawings and specifications. + Develops detailed material take-offs for estimate development and field procurement of bulk materials. Qualifications Minimum Requirements : + BA/BS degree in Engineering or Construction plus 4 years or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience working for construction contractor(s) in NYC. + Experience with NYCDEP projects.
