Summary The VA Puget Sound Health Care System is currently hiring one Registered Nurse to join the Radiation Oncology team in Seattle, WA. Responsibilities Duties include but are not limited to: Provide skilled nursing care, triage, and respond to urgent or emergency situations in a radiation oncology setting. Assist in coordination of daily clinic operations while supporting physicians and radiation therapists. Conduct comprehensive pre-consult reviews and new patient assessments; ensure accurate documentation in ARIA and CPRS. Educate patients and families on radiation treatment, side effects, and care plans; provide ongoing support throughout treatment. Coordinate and prepare patients for CT simulation and radiation procedures, including pre-medication and special instructions. Manage on-treatment visits (OTVs): perform assessments, document findings, and communicate with providers. Collaborate with inpatient and outpatient teams to ensure continuity and quality of patient care. Maintain clinic readiness by checking emergency equipment, stocking supplies, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Schedule and coordinate patient appointments in ARIA; assist with workflow between consultations and treatments. Support departmental operations including pharmacy, supply chain, and front desk coordination as needed. Foster a supportive, respectful learning environment for new staff in the clinic.
