Job Title: HVAC Filter Technician Job Description The HVAC Filter Technician installs HVAC filters in a variety of commercial and industrial air handling units while delivering professional, courteous customer service. This role includes performing visual inspections of equipment, documenting filter changes and deficiencies, completing required paperwork, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. The position is hands-on, physically active, and primarily outdoors, involving work at heights, driving a service truck, and collaborating with a small crew. Responsibilities + Install HVAC filters in various types of air handlers within commercial and industrial facilities. + Perform thorough visual inspections of each unit during service to identify any visible issues or deficiencies. + Document the date and initials on filters in the filter bank to ensure accurate service records. + Take clear notes of any equipment deficiencies and submit them to the manager for follow-up with the customer. + Clean all debris and spent filters from rooftops and other work areas, and dispose of materials properly in accordance with company guidelines. + Remove and dispose of all trash generated from the work at the completion of each job, leaving the site clean and organized. + Ensure the service truck is maintained according to the vehicle specification guide, including cleanliness, organization, and basic upkeep. + Maintain accountability for all tools, equipment, and materials used during the workday. + Load and unload the service truck with filters, tools, and supplies at the start and end of each shift. + Make deliveries and pickups of materials and equipment as needed to support ongoing jobs. + Lead a small crew of 2u20133 team members on site, providing direction and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently. + Drive the service truck from the warehouse to various job sites and return the truck to the warehouse at the end of the shift. + Make professional contact with customers on site, representing the company positively and communicating basic job details as needed. + Complete basic documentation and paperwork related to services performed, including notes, dates, and any issues observed. + Work effectively as part of a team, supporting others and contributing to a safe, cooperative work environment. Essential Skills + Experience with installation or general mechanical work, preferably involving HVAC systems or air filters. + Ability to work safely at heights and climb ladders confidently and repeatedly throughout the day. + Capability to lift 25+ pounds as needed to handle filters, tools, and materials. + Valid driveru2019s license and ability to drive a service truck between warehouse and job sites. + Comfort working outdoors in commercial and industrial environments, including on rooftops. + Ability to use basic hand tools required for installation and general labor tasks. + Strong attention to detail for visual inspections, documentation, and noting equipment deficiencies. + Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work closely with 1u20132 other technicians on a crew. + Basic troubleshooting mindset for identifying visible issues with HVAC filter setups and related components. + Reliability to work early morning shifts and extended hours, including some overtime and occasional Saturdays. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Previous experience installing HVAC filters or working with HVAC systems is a plus. + BG in mechanical, installation, or general labor roles in commercial or industrial settings is beneficial. + Experience working at heights on rooftops or elevated platforms. + Comfort using ladders and following safety practices when working above ground level. + Ability to communicate clearly with customers and teammates on job expectations and status. + Basic documentation and record-keeping skills for service notes and paperwork. + Interest in growing into a experienced technician role with additional responsibilities over time. Work Environment Work takes place primarily in commercial and industrial facilities, often on rooftops and in outdoor conditions, with frequent work at heights and on ladders. The schedule typically runs from approximately 3:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with every other Saturday required and regular overtime. The role splits time between two major metro areas, with about half the work in one city and half in another nearby city, without overnight stays. You work on a small team of 2u20133 people, collaborating closely on installations, inspections, and clean-up. Each day begins and ends at the warehouse, where you pick up and return the service truck, load and unload filters and tools, and prepare for the next shift. The environment is hands-on, physically active, and safety-focused, requiring appropriate work attire suitable for outdoor, rooftop, and industrial settings. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
