Basic computer skills.Experience: Experience in maintenance and/or custodial is helpful.Experience as a deliverydriver/courier is helpfulMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Assists with opening the building in order for students and staff tobegin the school day.Helps maintain cleanliness of the building including washing windows,picking up trash, cleaningbathrooms and drinking fountains, mopping floors when necessary.Repairs building and equipment as assigned to assure equipment isoperational for students andstaff.Sets up and replaces equipment as needed for daily activities such aslunch, as well as specialactivities such as evening programs.Provides crossing guard duties in order to ensure students, parents, andstaff are able to crossthe street safely.Helps receive deliveries and dispenses of equipment/supplies/furniturein their appropriateplaces.Assists with closing the building in order to ensure the building issecure and utility costs areminimized.Shovels, plows, and salts sidewalks and steps during inclement weatherto ensure a safeenvironment.Assist with special projects such as putting together new furniture,painting walls, completingrepairs, and doing major repairs, during summer months and at times whenschool is not insession.Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies for the purpose of re-locatingclassrooms.Supervises students as needed, in order to ensure safety.Maintains confidentiality as appropriate in order to comply withdistrict, state and federal laws.Performs other duties as assigned in order to ensure a clean, orderly,and safe environmentSupervisory Responsibilities: None1 of 2Maize USD 266Job DescriptionMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office and maintenance equipment andchemicals includingpersonal computer and phone along with two-way radios.Posture: Occasional sitting, Frequent standing and occasional ladderuse.Motion: Significant walking; Frequent reaching, carrying, stooping, andkneeling, pushing/pullingLifting: Heavy lifting is infrequentEnvironment: Inside and outside.
