These individuals will have a variety of assignments, including the supervision of fare evasion and vandalism enforcement teams, as well as security supervisory management, sensitive and confidential investigations, coordination surveillance work, identification of vulnerabilities and their mitigation strategies, and the efficient deployment of personnel and assets. In addition, some of the selected candidates may be assigned to the camera unit to retrieve videos, install, test, maintain, and repair Department of Security Deployable Cameras throughout New York City Transit property. Equipment; read will include responding to requests for video by retrieving deployable camera electronic media troubleshoot and maintain deployable cameras (analog and IP), video recording equipment, network equipment (routers, switches, servers, etc.), PCs, digital video recorders, network video recorders, wireless CCTV equipment; read and interpret camera wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, technical manuals, station; conduct video investigations by review of electronic media for incidents occurring on NYCT property. The selected candidates will be required to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays. This individual will be required to drive a NYC Transit vehicle and will also be required to work under adverse conditions, e.g. in subway tunnels, platforms, train yards, depots, and street level bus stops. Education and Experience A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five (5) years of full-time experience as an investigator, of which one (1) year must have been as an investigator in the field; or A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Desired Skills: + An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college. + Fifteen years of experience in Security Management, Law Enforcement, and/or Counter Terrorism/Intelligence, Military Police/Intelligence or enforcement capacity is preferable. (Transit Security is considered highly desired.) + Ten years of experience in supervising and/or managing Security, Military Police, Intelligence, Law Enforcement, or enforcement personnel. + Knowledge of CCTV Camera Surveillance System Monitoring. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Problem-solving and logistical skills relating to security/property protection enforcement. + Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Applications.
