Description Summary ObjectiveThe purpose of this position is to counsel and aid individuals and families requiring assistance dealing with substance abuse problems. Monitor condition of clients to evaluate success of therapy and adapts treatment and rehabilitation programs. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class asu00a0necessary.Facilitates group sessions to discuss issues, problems, or concerns; and conducts substance use education programs.Counsels, advises, and refers clients to available social services, community resources, medical or psychiatric treatment, and housing and employment assistance programs.Evaluates the client's situation to determine specific needs and services, to establish goals and objectives for treatment and rehabilitation plans, and to assess the effectiveness and achievement of recommended treatment terviews clients to obtain information to compile an economic, legal, family, lifestyle, substance use and medical history record.Explains program eligibility requirements, guidelines and clinic fees to clients and their families.Participates in staff development programs and quality assurance activities.Documents client treatment progress prepares reports and correspondence and maintains records and files.Performs related work as assigned.u00a0Minimum Requirements u00a0MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Bacheloru2019s degree in social or human services or related discipline and hold one of the following Kentucky credentials:Temporary Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (TCADC)Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)u00a0ORHigh school diploma or GED equivalent and hold one of the following Kentucky credentials:Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Associate I (CADCA1)Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Associate II (CADCA2)u00a0OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:u00a0GENERALMust be certified as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) in the State of Kentucky within one (1) year of hire date in accordance with KRS 309.0831.u00a0PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELLNESS HARM REDUCTION OUTREACH SERVICES:Must wear personal protective equipment as mandated by OSHA.Must work a varied schedule.Must provide one's own source of transportation.Must possess and maintain a valid state driveru2019s license with an acceptable driving history.
