The New Riverdale Rehab and Nursing Center - Overview:Performs floor care and cleaning activities within well established guidelines and assigned clinical and non-clinical areas to ensure that quality standards, safety guidelines, and customer service expectations are metResponsibilities:Provide basic housekeeping duties including changing the sheets, changing and arranging the towels, restocking toilet supplies, vacuuming, dusting and rearranging rooms as neededReport and return any guest properties found in the rooms while rendering serviceReport cases of property damage on the units and resident rooms to supervisorMay collect trash/ recycling/ soiled linen from the units and for proper disposal of trash/ recycling/ laundry in an outside/ soiled linen barrel containerMay clean patient rooms, public areas, restrooms, offices and ancillary rooms in assigned areasDemonstrates a complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures and proper operation of cleaning equipmentMaintains an appropriate level of knowledge relating to matters of sanitation, use of disinfectants, and reports any hazardous situations, and responds to any hazards and emergency situationsCollects and disposes of trash (contaminated or non-contaminated) in an appropriate mannerCollets and stages soiled linen for pick upWork with team of housekeepers on each shiftClean, disinfect and store all equipment at end of the shiftMaintain a positive relationship with employees and guestsMonitor and report on the inventory of cleaning suppliesRespond to calls or housekeeping problems, such as spills and broken glassCollect and remove trash and debrisAssist with packing resident belongingsAssist with laundry management, including washing, drying, ironing and sorting linenAssist with buffing, waxing and scrubbingReport, turn in and log all lost and found itemsClean upholstered furniturePerform detailed deep cleans when requiredOther duties as assignedQualifications:At least one year of experience in housekeepingExperience with buffing, waxing, and scrubbingExcellent working knowledge of cleaning appliances and their operations and proper use of cleaning agentsMust be able to read, write and understand the English languageSupervisory Requirements:This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Work Environment:This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the care cumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in working cumbent may be required to work extended periods of time at a video display cumbent may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric, and deceased patients.Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this jobWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
